My little secret- I always look at the illustrations in a children’s picture book first, before I read one word. I feel that the illustrations should be able to tell the story.
I am a children’s book illustrator/author specializing in full color Picture Books and black and white illustrations for Chapter Books and Early Readers. I love creating relatable and expressive characters. My visual storytelling shows their relationship to each other and to their environment and adds dimension and narrative detail to the story.
My work is both traditional and digital, keeping a warm hand drawn quality to my drawing and adding color with a subtle water color look.
I have illustrated two picture books for authors who independently published. Recently I illustrated a chapter book creating line art and full color book cover for Benjamin Bookmark by Marielle Rebbechi. Published 2026 and reviewed by Kirkus.
As well as illustrating for others, I am also a children’s book author/illustrator and have two professionally edited picture book dummies looking for representation.

Originally from New Zealand where I was an elementary school teacher, I moved to New York and went back to school for illustration studying at The School of Visual Arts and the Art Students League. I was a graphic artist and t shirt designer for 30+ years and am a Mom and Nana.
